Greg Bradshaw sent a note regarding the closing of the ESPN Zone at the Tabor Center on the 16th Street Mall. It's is being replaced by a chain Sport Bar & Restaurant named the Tilted Kilt. If you are unfamiliar with the Tilted Kilt, think Hooters with tartan mini-skirts. If you go to the website, turn down the volume on your speakers first. The food menu looks pretty standard (no haggis) and the beverage menu includes Guinness and Smithwick's on tap and a fair line up of Single Malt Scotch and Irish Whiskey.
As far as I can tell, only the lease has been signed. There's no information yet on an opening date.

Jerry Van Dyke was inducted into the Colorado Motor Sports Hall of Fame this evening in Arvada, Colorado. Presenting the award to Jerry was John Bandimere, Jr. of Bandimere Speedway. Out of 13 inductees, Jerry was the only one to recieve a standing ovation from the crowd of over 300 racing afficianados. Jerry also MC'd the evening (except for the speech about him which his daughter Bobby did the honors). Jerry has been involved in motor sports for over 50 years and has been instrumental in maintaining the Colorado Motor Sports Hall of Fame and serves as its chairman. As you could have guessed, he has announced many races at tracks around the region. Many of you may not have known, but Jerry's early career involved automobile racing on many of the best tracks in the country against many well known drivers. The biography read to the crowd also mentioned his involvement with Scottish Athletics.
